Adam Smith has a choice to make now – does he play in the Pairs at the Short Mat World Championships in Sweden or does he play in the Triples?
Adam made it to the Worlds again this weekend by winning the ESMBA Triples title alongside Danny Langdon from North Yorkshire and Ryan Knight from Gloucestershire. Congratulations to all three.
Still the Singles competition to go – anyone like to bet on Adam for that title?

Cheshire Premier team played West Midlands Premier team at Winnington Park on Sunday (15th October).
Cheshire took first blood winning 6 points to 2 in the first session, however the second session saw a come back from West Midlands resulting in a 8 points to 8 at half time.
Third session was even stevens with two wins and two losses, however Cheshire won both singles and pairs aggregates meaning at the end of the third session Cheshire had 16 points and West Midlands 12 points.
The fourth and final session proved too much for our Cheshire boys with West Midlands taking all 8 points together with the aggregates in both triples and fours.
This meant that the overall score was Cheshire 16, West Midlands 24.
A valiant effort from the Cheshire team.
Good luck at North Yorkshire on 12th November – our next game.
Cheshire Premier played Northamptonshire Premier at Daventry Indoor Bowls Club yesterday (8th October).
Even with a team, which had changed many times over the last week, Cheshire did not disgrace themselves in any way. Unfortunately the final result did not reflect the level of bowls played.
The final result was Cheshire 17 : Northamptonshire 23, the shots being Cheshire 189 : Northants 186.
Cheshire play West Midlands at home next week 15th October – good luck with that game.

Both the premier and A team played there respective ICC matches this weekend. Cheshire A went out to a strong Cambridgeshire team at Church Gresley.
Cheshire Premier looked like they were going out after the first two sessions at Wyken Community Centre but a good third session with wins in both pairs and one win and a draw in the singles, we managed to secure the aggregates and take a slim lead in to the final session. A good last session from Somerset secured the aggregates in both multi disciplines for them.
So, the playoff was between Andrew Pinkawa/Grant Soller, Adam Smith/Andrew Cowlin and Stephen Proctor/Chris Shakeshaft. Winning ends came from Adam and Procy sealing the match 2-1.
