Premier team into the semi’s!

Cheshire premier team have progressed into this season’s ICC semi finals after victory against Kent in the quarter final. The match was a battle as Kent came to Wey valley in confident mood. The first session saw Cheshire win both singles games comfortably, however the pairs struggled and Kent took both. Session 2 was a similar story, Cheshire taking both triples and Kent both fours. At half time the match was level at 8-8. Things turned Cheshire’s way in the third session with a superb performance by all the players. The singles once again took both games and therefore the bonus points, while the pairs, after a troubled first session, came out fighting and secured vital victories to take the session 8-0. Kent secured the pairs bonus points after their victories in session 1 proved too much to claw back. After a brilliant session 3 the match stood at 18-10  to Cheshire. The job was finished in the fourth session as the triples bagged a win and a draw, along with the bonus points. The fours won one game but missed out on the agg, so the match finished 25-15 to Cheshire.

Credit must go to Kent who put up a battling performance, which we came through thanks to a fantastic team spirit and some great play.

Next up is Essex at Church Gresley, a very different surface from the one we faced at Wey Valley!
